octenident® antiseptic has an antimicrobial effect. It is used for
• temporary reduction of bacterial count in the oral cavity
• for temporary inhibition of plaque formation
• in cases of insufficient oral hygiene capacity (no toothbrushing possible, for example) in adults.
Instructions for use
- Use the solution twice a day (after meals and toothbrushing)
- Fill 10 ml in the measuring cup provided
- If you use octenident® antiseptic just after brushing, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water before rinsing with octenident® antiseptic
- Rinse your mouth thoroughly for about 30 seconds and spit out.
- The solution should not be swallowed
- Do not rinse the mouth with water directly afterwards
- Do not use this medicine for more than five days in a row
Product data
Composition: One ml solution contains 1 mg octenidine dihydrochloride.
Excipients: Glycerol 85% (E422), sodium gluconate, citric acid, disodium phosphate dihydrate (for pH adjustment), macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate, sucralose, purified water, mint flavour (contains propylene glycol (E 1520)). Contains macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate. See leaflet for further information.
Special advice
octenident® antiseptic is intended for superficial use only. It must not be administered deep in the tissue for example with a syringe or a blunt cannula in order to prevent irritations of the surrounding tissues potentially ranging from slight swellings to serious tissue necrosis. Specifically, it should not be used for the rinsing of periodontal pockets, of root canals or of wound cavities following dental surgery.

octenident® antiseptic 1 mg/ml oromucosal solution - Active substance: octenidine dihydrochloride. Composition: 1 ml of solution contains 1 mg of octenidine dihydrochloride. Common: Numb sensation in the mouth, Coating of the mouth or the tongue, Temporary tongue discoloration, Sensitivity of teeth.
